Allison O'Brien
Hi there! My name is Allison O'Brien. I'm a 25 year old Freelance Digital Artist/2D Animator. I graduated May 2021, from Kutztown University with a BFA in Applied Digital Arts, with a dual concentration in 2D Animation and Concept. I'm also the Owner of Kaikishi, a sticker/art shop formed January 2024.
Ever since I was little, I had always loved animated shows. The style, the exaggerated motions, the strange plot lines. Everything was just so interesting to me unlike real life shows. By ten years old I had watched my first anime, Dragon Ball Z, and a whole nother world had been opened up to me. Action animation and even bolder storylines with linear plot, it was amazing.
It wasn’t until my Sophomore year of Highschool, I had finally decided what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. In 2015, I had looked up to 3D animator/Storyteller, Monty Oum, the creator of RWBY (2013-present). When he had passed away unexpectedly after a procedure, I had decided to try and follow his footsteps.
I just want to be able to create work I love while inspiring others. If I can get someone to love my work enough to say “I want to do that too,” then I’ll have achieved my biggest dream. Once I began to study different art forms, I found my true passions to be 2D Animation, concept art and creative direction, unlike my original dream of 3D fighting Choreography.
Most of my experience comes from personal projects and online commissions. All of my own content assets have been made by myself, and I pride myself on that. While I'm still trying to break into the industry, I will not give up, and will keep trying until I do c:
